Projections of Solids
a)
A hexagonal prism edge of base 25 mm and axis 60 mm long rests on H.P. on an
edge of base with that edge perpendicular to V.P. and axis inclined 45° to H.P.
and Parallel to V.P. Draw: i) F.V. ii) T.V.
b)
A pentagonal pyramid side of base 30 mm
and axis length 65 mm is kept on the H.P. on a corner of its base such that
axis makes an angle of 30° to the H.P. and parallel to the V.P. Draw its
projections.
c) A square pyramid, side of base 35 mm, axis length 65 mm lying on the HP with all edges of bases are equally inclined to V.P .Its Axis inclined at 45⁰ to HP and parallel to V.P. Draw its projections.
Development of Surfaces
a)
Figure shows FV of a square pyramid.
Draw its development of lateral surfaces of a pyramid also add top view.
b) Draw
development of surface of a cylinder having base diameter 50 mm and axis height
80 mm kept of HP. It is cut by a cutting plane which is inclined at 45° with HP and
bisecting axis of cylinder.
c)
A right circular cone diameter of base
60 mm and axis 60 mm long is resting on its base on H.P. It is cut by a section
plane perpendicular to V.P. and inclined at 45°
to H.P. and bisecting the axis of cone. Draw the front view, top view and
development of lateral surface of the cone.
d) Draw
the development of the lateral surface of the cylinder shown in Fig.
Intersections of
Solids
A
)A vertical cylinder of diameter of 70 mm and height 100 mm is completely
penetrated by a horizontal square prism of side 50 mm and length 110 mm. The
axis of the prism bisects the axis of the cylinder. All the rectangular faces
of the prism are equally inclined to H.P. Draw Front View, Top View and Side
View showing the curves of intersection.
b)
A vertical cylinder 85 mm diameter is penetrated by another cylinder of 60 mm
diameter, the axis of which is parallel to both H.P. and V.P. The two axes are
8 mm apart. Draw the projections showing curves of intersection.
