Engineer's Day celebration,15th Sep 2024 Bharat Ratna Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya

                 

We celebrates "Engineer's Day" every year on 15th of September in remembrance of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, the greatest civil   Engineer , the Engineering fraternity of India . This great contributor to growth and engineering was born 15 September 1861 and died 12 April 1962 (aged 101). Every year the celebration of the Engineer's Day to all states and local centers.

Engineer's Day 2024: हर साल 15 सितंबर को इंजीनियर्स डे मोक्षगुंडम विश्वेश्वरैया (Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya) की जयंती के रूप में मनाया जाता है.

भारतातील अभियांत्रिकी बंधुभगिनी, महान स्थापत्य अभियंता सर मोक्षगुंडम विश्वेश्वरय्या यांच्या स्मरणार्थ आम्ही दरवर्षी 15 सप्टेंबर रोजी "अभियंता दिन" साजरा करतो. वाढ आणि अभियांत्रिकी या महान योगदानकर्त्याचा जन्म 15 सप्टेंबर 1861 आणि मृत्यू 12 एप्रिल 1962 (वय 101) रोजी झाला. दरवर्षी सर्व राज्ये आणि स्थानिक केंद्रांना अभियंता दिन साजरा केला जातो.

His vision and dedication in the field of engineering made some exceptional contributions to India. For  his contribution, he was honored with the highest state award of India, "The Bharat Ratna", in the 1955. 

He has Completed his graduation in Civil Engg. from Govt. College of Engg., Pune

Some of the contributions of Sir VM are..

• He was the chief engineer during the construction of Krishna sager dam on the Cauvery River.
• Many dams built by him in Bombay are still functional even till today.
• The Sri Jayachamaraja Polytechnic Institute of Bangalore was started on the recommendation of Sir Visvesvaraya.
• The Block System was invented by him, which was a system of automated doors that closed in the conditions of overflow.
• Krishnarajasagara Dam built by his help, is still praised by everybody witnessing it.
• Mysore University, which is a matter of great proud for the people of Mysore, was established because of his will and conviction.

Qualities of Him:

• Punctuality.. He was very famous for his punctuality, it's said He was never late even by a minute and expected his people also to realize the importance of time.
• Perfect Clothing.. Every person having met Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, proudly remembers his neat and fine clothing.
• Perfectionist.. There are many examples to show that even a little task that he took up, was always completed to perfection. Even if it was to deliver a speech, he would think in advance, write and rehearse it number of times.
• Fitness.. Even at the age of 92, he was never dependent on comforts; he would not only walk by himself, but, take full participation in all proceedings.
• Dedication to work.. Nothing was able to deter Sir, from his commitment to good work; his work was his worship.
• Courageous.. Many of the projects completed by him that India stands proud of today, would not have existed if it was not his will and conviction.
• Fearless Patriot.. When it came to India, even high perks given to Sir by the British Government were not enough for him; he opposed everything and anything that was against the favor of his nation.
• अभियांत्रिकी क्षेत्रातील त्यांची दूरदृष्टी आणि समर्पण यांनी भारतासाठी काही अपवादात्मक योगदान दिले. त्यांच्या योगदानाबद्दल, त्यांना 1955 मध्ये भारतातील सर्वोच्च राज्य पुरस्कार "भारतरत्न" ने सन्मानित करण्यात आले.
• त्यांनी कॉलेज ऑफ इंजी., पुणे येथून सिव्हिल इंजिनीअरमध्ये ग्रॅज्युएशन पूर्ण केले .   
• सर VM यां काही योगदान:-
• कावेरी नदीवरील कृष्णसागर धरणाच्या बांधकामादरम्यान ते मुख्य अभियंता होते.
• त्यांनी मुंबईत बांधलेली अनेक धरणे आजही कार्यरत आहेत.
• बंगळुरूचे श्री जयचामराजा पॉलिटेक्निक इन्स्टिट्यूट सर विश्वेश्वरयांच्या शिफारशीवरून सुरू झाले.
• ब्लॉक सिस्टमचा शोध त्यांनी लावला होता, ही स्वयंचलित दरवाजांची एक प्रणाली होती जी ओव्हरफ्लोच्या परिस्थितीत बंद होते.
• त्यांच्या मदतीतून बांधलेले कृष्णराजसागर धरण आजही सर्वांच्या साक्षीने कौतुकास्पद आहे.
• म्हैसूरच्या लोकांसाठी अभिमानास्पद बाब असलेल्या म्हैसूर विद्यापीठाची स्थापना त्यांच्या इच्छाशक्ती आणि दृढनिश्चयामुळे झाली.
• वक्तशीरपणा.. तो त्याच्या वक्तशीरपणासाठी खूप प्रसिद्ध होता, असे म्हणतात की तो कधीही एक मिनिटही उशीर करत नव्हता आणि त्याच्या लोकांनाही वेळेचे महत्त्व कळेल अशी अपेक्षा होती.
• परफेक्ट कपडे.. सर मोक्षगुंडम विश्वेश्वरय्या यांना भेटलेल्या प्रत्येक व्यक्तीला त्यांचे नीटनेटके कपडे अभिमानाने आठवतात.
• परफेक्शनिस्ट.. त्याने हाती घेतलेले छोटेसे कामही नेहमी परिपूर्णतेसाठी पूर्ण होते हे दाखवणारी अनेक उदाहरणे आहेत. भाषण करायचं असलं तरी तो कितीतरी वेळा आधीच विचार करायचा, लिहायचा आणि रिहर्सल करायचा.
• तंदुरुस्ती.. वयाच्या ९२ व्या वर्षीही तो कधीही सुखसोयींवर अवलंबून नव्हता; तो केवळ एकट्याने चालत नाही, तर सर्व कामकाजात पूर्ण सहभाग घेत असे.
• कामाप्रती समर्पण.. सरांना त्यांच्या चांगल्या कामाच्या बांधिलकीपासून काहीही रोखू शकले नाही; त्याचे काम त्याची पूजा होते.
• धाडसी.. त्यांनी पूर्ण केलेले अनेक प्रकल्प ज्यांचा आज भारताला अभिमान आहे, त्यांची इच्छाशक्ती आणि विश्वास नसता तर ते अस्तित्वातच नसते.
• निर्भय देशभक्त.. भारतात आल्यावर ब्रिटिश सरकारने सरांना दिलेले उच्च भत्तेही त्यांच्यासाठी पुरेसे नव्हते; त्याने आपल्या राष्ट्राच्या हिताच्या विरुद्ध असलेल्या प्रत्येक गोष्टीला आणि कोणत्याही गोष्टीला विरोध केला.
