Subject : Engineering Drawing  312311

branch : Mechanical engg

Section I

QU-1 Fig.- shows the pictorial view of an object.
Draw : (i) Sectional front view along symmetry of the object (ii) L.H.S.V   iii) Top View
Use first angle method.

QU-2       Fig.- shows isometric view of a CI block.
Draw :
(i) Sectional F.V. in the X-direction
(ii) T.V.
(iii) L.H.S.V.
QU.3              Fig.  shows isometric view of a machine component.
          Draw the following views :
 (i) Sectional F.V. looking in the direction of X (Section B – B)        (ii) T.V.

QU.4 A line AB, 65 mm long is inclined to HP at an angle of 45º. Its end A is 15 mm above HP and 25 mm infront of VP. Line AB is contained by a vertical plane making an angle of 45º to VP. Draw the projections of line and find inclinations of the line with VP.

QU.5)    a) When line is perpendicular to V.P., state whether following statements are true or false    (i) Front view shows true length (ii) Top view shows true length

       b) If a line is parallel to VP and inclined to HP, state whether following statements are
true or false. i) Front view of the line shows its true length. ii) Top view of the line is
 inclined to XY.

c) With a simple sketch explain 1) removed section. 2) Revolved section

Q.6)Line AB, 80 mm long is inclined at 30º to the H.P. and 45º to the V.P. Its end A is 15 mm above the H.P. and 25 mm infront of the V.P. Draw its projections. Assume the line is to be in first quadrant.

Q.7)The top view of a 75 mm long line AB measures 65 mm, while the length of its F.V. is 50 mm . Its one end A is in the H.P. and 12 mm in front of V.P. Draw the projections of line AB (Two Views)

Q.8)End P of line PQ is 25 mm above HP and is in VP. The length of line is 80 mm and it makes 55° to HP and 30° to VP. Draw its projections.

Section  II

1)A 30º – 60º set-square has its shortest edge 50 mm long in V.P. Its surface is perpendicular to H.P. and inclined to V.P. such that its front view appears as an isosceles triangle. Draw its three views and determine its inclination with V.P.

 2)    A cone is lying on the H.P. on its curved surface with its axis parallel to V.P. What will

be the top view of base ? (i) Circle (ii) Square (iii) Ellipse

3)A hexagonal plate of side 30 mm has a corner is VP and its surface making 40° to VP and perpendicular to HP. Draw its three views.

4)A square pyramid , side of base 40 mm and length of axis 60 mm is resting on its base corner on H.P. in such a way that base makes an angle of 30 deg with H.P.. Draw its projections.

  5) A cone of base 50 mm diameter and axis length 65 mm is resting on its apex on HP. Axis of cone is parallel to VP and inclined 45° to HP. Use first angle method and draw projections

Qu.6 : Draw neat & proportionate free hand sketch of

i)   Double Rivetted Lap joint.   ii) Double riveted lap joint. (chain type)    iii) Flexible flange coupling. iv) Lewis foundation bolt.    V ) Wing Nut.  Vi)  Castle Nut.

vii) Single headed feather key.     Viii) Single Riveted,        ix ) Single strapButt Joint.    x) Eye Foundation Bolt.   Xi) Rag foundation bolt.

Qu. 7 Draw the conventional representation of :

(i) Spot Weld   (ii) Single J-butt Weld      iii) Double U-butt  (iv) Single bevel butt  v) All round fillet weld  vi) Single V-butt

Qu. 8 Draw neat & proportionate free hand sketch of i) pulley with web. ii) Half lap  muff coupling. Iii) Protected Flange Coupling.

Qu. 9 Draw the conventional representation of following material :         (i) Concrete   (ii) Brass  (iii) Glass  iv) Steel   v)Rubber (vi) Wood  vii)Metal  (steel)

Qu. 10  With a simple sketch explain

                       1) removed section. 2) Revolved section

QU.11   A rectangular lamina ABCD of smaller side AB= 30 mm & Longer side BC=50 mm ,resting on the V.P on its smaller side AB Lamina is inclined to V.P in such a way that its front view appears to be a square. Side AB is perpendicular to H.P. Draw three views of Lamina & find its inclination with V.P
